About Us

EJT Ventures, LLC is a private investment firm based in Los Angeles, California that specializes in real estate and venture capital opportunities. The firm is led by Eli Taban, an active investor and attorney. 

Eli is also the founder of Big Law Partners, an alternative model transactional real estate law firm staffed with ex-big firm attorneys but structured without much of the big firm overhead (eg, no trophy office space, junior associates, or non-professional staff). Eli graduated with a BA in Economics from UCLA in 2001 and joint JD/MRED degrees from USC's law school and school of policy, planning & development in 2005. Thereafter, Eli practiced transactional real estate law at Pircher, Nichols & Meeks, one of California's premier real estate law firms, where he spent most of his time representing institutional clients such as The Blackstone Group and Morgan Stanley on investment and loan transactions. After his time at PN&M, Eli went in-house at Jade Enterprises, one of California's largest private commercial real estate investment and management firms where he assumed both legal and business responsibilities spanning deal sourcing, execution, and asset operations. 

With the benefit of extensive experience acting both as an advisor to some of the country's most successful investors and as a principal himself, Eli has gained invaluable insights and relationships that he is now leveraging for the pursuit of superior risk-adjusted returns through EJT Ventures.

Our real estate pursuits focus on value-add and opportunistic commercial projects in primary markets throughout the Western United States, as well as multi-generational trophy assets. We are product agnostic active sponsors but we also entertain passive opportunities across the capital stack. Target deal sizes are in the $10M-$100M range.
